The Aden Emergency 1963 - 1967

Khormaksar Airport

It is thought that this phot of the airport was taken in late 63/early 64. This is based on the line-up of aircraft to the left of the apron: 3 UN Otters which had been unloaded from a USAF C-133 and re-assembled on the apron and the converted Douglas bomber next to the Loadstar near the bottom and the markings of the British Eagle DC-6.

The airpot was used by the RAF but also by Civilian aircraft. Courtesy of Aden Airways
