Isambard Kingdom Brunel


Isambard Kingdom Brunel was the iconic engineer who did so much to connect Plymouth to the rest of the country through the construction of the Great Western Railway system throughout the South West. He is particularly well known for the construction of the first bridge across the lower Tamar in a major feat of engineering skill and triumph. He went on to become a major innovator in steamship technology which helped connect the British Empire together.
