St Michael's (Anglican) Church

This picture shows St Michael's (Anglican) Church in Sandakan. There was also an adjoining school. It was built primarily for the British employees of the North Borneo Company. The church building was the first completely stone-built building in Sabah. The foundation stone was laid on 29 September 1893 by Governor Creagh and it took more than 30 years to complete.
