Typhoons and Hong Kong

Nathan Road after Typhoon Rose, 1971

Typhoon Hope was one of the most severe typhoons to hit Hong Kong. Hope caused 12 deaths and about 260 injuries and hundreds of boats were either damaged or destroyed. Typhoon Hope was extremely violent in terms of damage but it was quickly moving, which prevented it from affecting Hong Kong over a long period of time.
