In Zululand

A watercolour by Lt-Col J N Crealock. This painting gives a good idea of how Evelyn Wood appeared in during the Zulu War of 1879. He wears a jacket, probably the blue patrol jacket, with his medal ribbons, a Sam Browne belt to hold his sword, and gauntlet gloves. His horse looks small and shaggy.
