Katherine Parr

Born1512
Married1543
Widowed1547
Died1548

Katherine was a more mature woman than any of Henry's previous wives. She was genuinely interested in the education and improvement of Henry's children and she was known to be a caring and considerate woman. She was also very interested in the new Protestant faith. Her relationship with Henry was probably more like that of a nurse than of a wife. By this time, Henry's health was deteriorating. She was very much a mother figure and did much to stabilize the strained family relationships.

She survived Henry to marry her step-son's uncle, Thomas Seymour. She gave birth to a daughter only to die in childbirth.
