Arras 1917

British cavalry awaiting orders to move forward during operations in the Arras area. This photo was published in Emperor's Chambermaids and shows cavalrymen wearing greatcoats. These would be needed for the terrible weather they had to cope with in the advance to Monchy on 10 April 1917.
