Drum Horse Offside c1911

This photo of the offside of the drum horse was taken either some years before or after the 1911 photo of the nearside. Although it is the same horse, several differences indicate a space of a few years. The yellow throat plume is much longer and the halter has a white rope instead of a chain. The drummer wears a white pouch-belt, and from this angle we can see the white pouch on his back as worn by all band members. The white V shape below his tunic is formed by two white leather sword slings attached to a webbing belt under his tunic.
