Lieutenant Henry Bremner


Lieutenant Henry Bremner from Glasgow was killed on 22 June 1896 while on active service in Mashonaland, at Marandellas 60 miles south of Salisbury, Rhodesia. He was 26 years old. He was on leave from his regiment and applied for permission from Sir Frederick Carrington to join the expedition against the Mashonas. He was born in 1870 and first joined the militia. He was then commissioned into the 20th Hussars in 1892 and promoted to lieutenant the next year. He was appointed adjutant in April 1896.
