Ghaznee

This sketch of Ghazni (Ghaznee) from the journal of Lieutenant Thomas Gaisford, Bombay Artillery, shows just how formidable the walled town was. The Afghans did not expect that the British would be able to take it as efficiently as the British did. This presaged a collapse in confidence that ultimately saw Dost Mohammed's regime collapse in on itself.
