Kabul to Kandahar

Medal

This bronze five pointed star was issued with the Afghanistan medal when the latter had the Kandahar clasp. It was made from guns captured from the army of Ayub Khan. The medal was awarded to the troops who accompanied General Roberts on the 310 mile march in the August heat to relieve the besieged garrison of Kandahar in 1880.
