HMS Plymouth and HMS Endurance

This painting by John Rowan Dominy shows HMS Plymouth rendezvousing with Endurance off South Georgia immediately before its recapture. Endurance had been trying to hide from the Argentines whilst waiting for the British. The captain Nicholas Barker memorably said that it was hard to pretend to be an iceberg when you were painted bright red!.
