Princess Diana Inspecting 13th/18th Hussars

This is a guidon parade in 1987. The Colonel-in-Chief, Princess Diana inspects the regiment with the Colonel, Maj-General Stuart Watson. The white topped forage cap gives the regiment a look of the Navy and coincidentally, there is a Royal Navy equerry next to the Colonel. The other point of interest is the fact that two different types of pouchbelt are to be seen. The Colonel wears the old 13th belt with white central stripe, and the other two officers wear the old 18th pouchbelt with no central stripe. They carry 1912 pattern swords. The privates in the background have a white flash on the front of their collars instead of the all white collar worn by officers.
