13th Hussars

Farrier 1898

Walking Out Dress at this period cosisted of the full dress dismounted uniform without pouchbelt and sword, but with white gloves and riding crop and pillbox cap. His status as a farrier is shown by the horse-shoe badge on his right sleeve. On the other sleeve is an inverted chevron - his good conduct stripe. The yellow caplines, although not necessary without the busby, are still worn round the neck, the loose end attached to the fourth button down.
