Royal Artillery

Musicians, 1997

The busby is shorter in height at the front than the back. The RA busbies were historically different from the RHA busbies in having brass chin-chains instead of plain black straps. The tunic is unlike the full dress O.R. tunic that used to be worn by the RA in that the red collar is edged with gold lace and has an embroidered gold bomb badge (officers have a silver one) on dark blue cloth. The simple gold shoulder cord differs again fron the cloth epaulette of the RA tunic and from the plaited shouder cord of the officers' tunic This man in the forground is a cornet player and wears the officer's type of full dress pouchbelt.
