Mounted Officer, 1790

This painting by Wymer is not contemporary but gives an idea of how the officer looked in action. The boots are a little too modern and the helmet has a dark turban instead of the expected buff colour but otherwise it is quite accurate. In review order the horse would have had an embroidered buff coloured saddlecloth or shabraque.
