Officer, 1793

This is a poor print of a portrait of Cornet Frank Sitwell who was in the 11th Light Dragoons for only a year after which he bought himself a captaincy in the 85th Foot in November 1793. He died in 1813 aged 37. This shows the blue coat worn over a blue braided waistcoat and done up near the top with hooks and eyes. Instead of epaulettes there are wings on his shoulders. His sword belt has a belt plate but too indistinct to make out what is on it. The light dragoon cap or Tarleton helmet has a buff turban and white over red plume. The crimson sash is tied round the waist and buff breeches are worn with lightweight black boots.
