They were commanded by Colonel Tower for the Campaign. It is recorded that there were 204 of all ranks when they landed at Zula. They were issued with the Snider breech loading carbine prior to embarkation in Bombay. Each man had two suits of Khaki clothing and a red serge patrol jacket. The painting is by Orlando Norie.
