Queen's Own Hussars

Trooper in No.1 Dress 1974

This close up shows the badges on the collar and the scarlet forage cap, both types of badge being bi-metal. The shoulder chains were worn by all ranks, only in cavalry regiments. This trooper, from Birmingham, has longer hair which was allowed in the 1970s. In that decade the QOH served four tours of duty in Northern Ireland and earned the soldiers the medal that he wears.
