Officer's Helmet, 1842

The first pattern Albert helmet was more ornate than the later version that exists taday. The plume holder is a form of tube shaped like acanthus leaves. This was gilt as were the floral decorations around the garter star badge and on the peak, and the chin-chain. The rest of the helmet was white metal.
