Officer, Undress 1880

The forage cap with embroidered badge is very clear. By this time the peak is more dipped instead of straight, and has gold embroidery. The cap band is of black silk, patterned with oak leaves. The blue patrol jacket has black silk frogging with olivet buttons. His rank badges are worn on the shoulder straps instead of the collar as of an order of 1880.
