On Field Day

An officer on the right holds a whistle to direct the men. They wear the undress frock which has blue facings. The officer's frock has breast pockets and blue epaulettes while the men have no breast pockets and red epaulettes. The officer has a white leather waistbelt to carry his sword. The men also have the white belt but with a cartridge pouch on the front. They have a thin white strap on their left shoulder to hold the water-bottle and a haversack on their right shoulder. The men have black boots and gaiters while the officer has brown boots and brown leather gloves.
