Tam O'Shanter

The Tam O'Shanter has been worn by Scottish regiments since World War 1. It is worn in place of the beret that other line infantry regiments have. The distinction of the Royal Scots is the square of Hunting Stewart tartan worn behind the badge. The badge is normally removed for exercise and active service.
