Officer's Forage Cap c1860

The Scots Guards differed from the Grenadiers and Coldstream by having the diced band instead of a black braid band. The dicing was of red, white and blue squares. Two other differences were the gold piping round the top edge, and the lack of a chin-strap and buttons on each side. These differences in the forage cap were to continue up to modern times. The cap star is metal, not embroidered.
