The Warwickshire Regiment

Officer in Forage Cap c1890

The officers' forage cap of the late 19th century was of blue cloth with black mohair braiding on top with a black mohair button. For Royal regiments like the Warwicks the cap band was scarlet. The fine badge can be seen at Officer's Forage cap Badge c1890. The peak is steeply angled and is of patent leather with gold wire embroidery. Field officers had a gold French braid welt instead of the blue cloth round the top of the cap. His patrol jacket is blue cloth with black mohair braid and netted olivets.
