Mounted Officer and Men, 1897

The junior officer in front, has a scarlet full dress tunic with blue facings and gold lace and braid. The men have a similar tunic but braided with yellow worsted. They are armed with lance and sword like the Mounted Rough Rider but have no carbine. They also wear white gloves instead of brown leather gauntlets. The full dress white helmet has a brass badge which does not show up here.
