Corps of Guides

British and Indian officers at Kabul, 1880

The Indian officers in this group have mostly plain kurtas without collars and without coloured cuffs. There are some cavalry officers with the turned down red collar and elaborately decorated sleeves, especially the risaldar-major seated in the middle with a grey beard.
