6th Gurkhas

Officer and Men, 1909

The nearest figure gives us a good view of the kukri on the right side of his belt and the bayonet on the left. The Kilmarnock cap has a scarlet 'tourie' in the middle. This is a distintion of the 6th, although it was also worn by the 2nd Sirmoor Rifles. The officers did not have a scarlet tourie, they had the black mohair type.
