| The gilt chains are on a blue cloth backing. The silver BL badge is fixed on a smooth gilt oval. The rank badges here, denote the rank of Lieutenant. The whole thing is rigid and would afford the wearer protection from sword cuts if it wasn't for the fact that it was purely decorative. It was an item that was peculiar to the 11th Bengal Lancers and worn both in Indian and Lancer full dress. |
