Risaldar 1897

Risaldar Nadir Khan is in full dress with blue kurta, white collar and gold lace. British officers wore the same style of uniform when parading with the men. The red kummerbund embroidery shows clearly here. The belts are gold lace on white leather with a white silk stripe down the centre. The Pouchbelt has silver chains and pickers. He has high Napoleon boots which obscure the breeches but they would be white. His spurs are brass at this time, changing to steel in 1902. Three medals on his chest include those for the Suakin campaign. This photo was published in the Navy & Army Illustrated in 1897. A painted portrait of his head and shoulders can be seen at Risaldar Nadir Khan.
