1st Sikh Infantry

Lieutenant, c1885

The decoration round the Austrian knots on his sleeves would seem to indicate that he is a captain but the two pips on his shoulder put him as a lieutenant. Th tunic is drab with yellow facings and drab silk cord and lace. The pouchbelt is very wide at this time and of brwn leather with silver fittings. The chains are wrapped round the belt.
