Major's Tunic, 1908


A scarlet full dress tunic with dark blue facings, gold lace etc and white piping. The lace on the collar and cuffs is Vellum lace. At this time there was no extra lace and braid to denote field rank. The gold shoulder chords have a silver embroidered Edwardian crown. The badge on the collar is a garter with ERI cypher inside. The waist sash is crimson. The owner of the tunic was Major H G Tranchell and it was made by J G Plumb, Military Outfitter, 117 Victoria Street, Westminster in 1908.
