52nd Sikhs

The uniform is drad coloured with red collar and cuffs bordered with drab silk lace and braid. The pouch belt is brown leather with silver chain, whistle and badge. His trousers are also drab with two silk drab stripes down the side separated by a red raised seam. The helmet has a red flash on the left side. This was the last year for the 52nd as such. The following year they were the 2nd battalion 12th Frontier Force Regiment. The officer is Major W F C Gilchrist CIE. The photo was taken in England in the year that he commanded the King's Indian Orderly Officers.
