Mess Kit


A drab cloth waist length jacket edged with drab square cord. There are metal studs down the front. The scarlet collar is edged with drab mohair and decorated with ornate Russia braid figuring. The scarlet cuffs are edged with an Austrian knot made of square cord traced with Russia braid. The shoulder-cords are of plaited drab chain gimp with captain's pips. The trousers are of matching drab cloth with a double drab mohair stripe showing a scarlet light between. The owner of these items was Capt. Henry Norman Lee, killed in France in 1914.
