The Light Dragoons

Officers

Officers of amalgamated cavalry regiments wear pouch belts of any of the parent regiments. These officers sport two different belts; the man nearest us has a 13th Hussar belt which is identifiable by the metal scrolls on the front and the man behind wears a 19th Hussar belt which is identified by the elephant badge between the boss and the pickers. It is interesting to note that the chain mail on the officers' shoulders is rectangular in shape whereas before the amalgamation in 1992 these items finished at the shoulder with a three pointed shape (see 13th Hussars). Another small change is the fact that the officers have two gilt cuff buttons as before but in the picture of the senior NCOs in the Guidon Party, there are no cuff buttons.
