| Major Kavanagh is here in Meerut in 1922 while Lt-Col Lockett was commanding the 11th. Kavanagh was a lieutenant when the regiment went to war in 1914. There were at first only two machine-guns for the whole regiment and Kavanagh was considered the machine-gun expert. The regiment were at Tidworth between 1930 and 1934. Kavanagh took over command from Col. Friend in 1932. |
