11th Hussars

Officer's Pouch 1840-1856

The 11th had a unique design that differed from the cloth and embroidery of the 7th, 8th and 10th Hussars and the silver rectangular types of those hussars who converted from light dragoons in 1861. The face of the pouch, here is gilt with silver wreath and honours surrounding a reversed VR cypher. At this stage there are four honours, anti clockwise from the left, SALAMANCA PENINSULA WATERLOO and BHURTPORE. The pouch retained this design, with the Crimean honours added, up to 1902.
