TSM Edwin Mole

Edwin Mole's account of his time in the 14th Hussars makes fascinating reading. He joined the regiment in 1863 and served for about 23 years in the regiment, and two years in the Yeomanry. During that time the 14th served in England, Scotland, Ireland, India and South Africa. His autobiography entitled A King's Hussar: Being the Military Memoirs for Twenty-five Years of a Troop-sergeant-major of the 14th (King's) Hussars was first published in 1893, edited by Herbert Compton. A synopsis can be read here.
