Victorian Officer's Pouch-Belt


The officers of the 14th Hussars wore an all gold train lace pouch-belt with silver and gilt fittings.' The chains, pickers and plates were hallmarked silver but the crest badge on the pickers plate and the eagle badge on the chain plate were gilt.' This belt can be seen in the coloured portrait of Lt-Col Hewitt.' The buckle, tip and slide were silver and the pouch had a silver flap with gilt crown and reverse Victorian cypher.
