Officer's Sabretache, Light Dragoons 1805

This is a detail from a monochrome painting of an officer of the 15th Light Dragoons and is the only one that can be dated with accuracy. See Officer 1805. It is on red cloth with a silver lace border. The silver reversed cypher of George II is well designed and may well be of moulded, silvered metal rather than embroidered. The crown could be in gold wire embroidery. The honour EMSDORF is on a scroll at the top.
