HRH The Duke of Cambridge
(1819-1904)




HRH The Duke of Cambridge became Colonel of the Regiment in 1843 and later Colonel-in-Chief until his death in 1904. He was also Commander-in-Chief of the army from 1856-1895 during which time he opposed any kind of change in the army.
