Ceteswayo's Kraal

The engraving here does not conform to Gissop's description. There is no central square hut. The word Kraal is an Afrikans word not used by the Zulus. They referred to them as imizi (villages) or amakhanda (barracks). The cattle were kept in the middle at night and the huts were betwwen the cattle pen and the outer defensive wall.
