5th Dragoon Guards

Officer's Cap Badge c1914

This badge was introduced in or before 1914 and can be seen in the photo of Lt-Col Ansell who was killed in Sept 1914. He wears it on his khaki forage cap while the collars of his service dress show the former garter badge. It was adopted as the cap badge of the amalgamated 5th Inniskilling DG in the 1920s.
