5th Dragoon Guards

Sabretache 1820

The granting of two new battle honours in 1820 prompted the slight alteration in design so that VITTORIA and TOULOUSE, which were awarded on 14th Feb 1820, were included.  The Grecian Key design around the inside edge was retained to signify the regiment’s state of mourning for Princess Charlotte who died in 1817. The lace appears silver but is in fact faded gold.
