5th Dragoon Guards

Sabretache and Pouch c1826

This design for both sabretache and pouch used from the mid-1820s remained almost unchanged for the next 30 years, apart from the royal cypher. The lace was now the attractive gold French check with scalloped edges. The Greek Key lines do not feature in the design. King George IV's GR cypher is surrounded by the four Peninsula battle honours and the space filled with gold oak leaves and acorns. The background is green velvet and the scrolls are on red crimson. The crown is the Guelphic crown.
