7th Hussars

Light Tank 1940

The three man team of this Vickers Mark IV light tank from B Squadron are taking advantage of a lull in the fighting to attend to personal maintenance. The tank was armed with two types of machine gun, 0.5 inch and .303. It is hard to make out the shape of the vehicle overall but the wheels and tracks are distinctive. Fortunately for the men who had to travel and fight inside these contraptions they did not have to face the German Panzers. By 1941 when Rommels' divisions appeared on the scene they had been issued with A9 and A10 Cruisers, and then Crusader Tanks later in the year.
