RSM William Mountford DCM



Regimental Sergeant Major Mountford was appointed to his position on 19th March 1890. During the Boer War, he and Sergeant Parry were awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal in October 1900. RSM Mountford is photographed here in 1894 in undress blue frock and blue field service cap. His rank is denoted by an embroidered crown on his right sleeve.
