Private, Walking Out Order c1890


For walking out of barracks the soldiers of the Queen's Bays wore the scarlet dress tunic which had collar, cuffs and shoulder straps in the pale cream facing colour. The shoulder straps had red embroidered 2DG on each shoulder. The collar is without badges. The cuffs were ornamented with white cord whereas the other dragoon guard regiments had yellow. He has a white leather pouchbelt with black leather pouch on the back ornamented with a brass crown badge. His white leather waistbelt is fastened with a snake clasp, and has sword slings attached but no sword. He has short white gloves and a cane.
