Band Pouch

Photos of bandsmen of the Bays show them wearing a black leather pouch like this with the regimental badge. The pouchbelt was discontinued for the cavalry c1901 but trumpeters and musicians continued to wear the white belts with pouches either black like this or of white leather and larger. The brass badge on this pouch is similar in design to the NCO's silver arm badge. The motto is attached to the wreath whereas the officer's pouch had the wreath and scroll separate. The badge with motto was adopted by the Bays in 1909 so this pouch dates after that.
