Major Edward Spencer Dickin


Edward Spencer Dickin was born on 18 Sep 1872, the son of Captain Thomas Acherley Massy Dickin. He was a second-lieutenant in the Queen's Bays on 7 Dec 1895, lieutenant on 10 Mar 1897, and captain on 30 Dec 1899. He married Norah Grace Stopford, daughter of Lt.-Col. Horace Robert Stopford and Marguerite Louisa Greathed MacDowell, on 18 July 1911. They had a daughter, Evelyn Nancy Stopford Dickin who died in 1998. They lived at Loppington House, Loppington, Shropshire. He reached the rank of Major in the service of the 2nd Dragoon Guards. He died on 28 October 1960.The photo shows him wearing the mess kit of the Queen's Bays.
